Hi team
Today was the start of the weekend. So I didn't fancy working out today plus it was very hot all day.
I didn't sleep well as my eldest woke up at 2130hrs and he needs someone to sleep in his room to get him back to sleep at night, it was so hot and he was tossing and turning all night.
My better half took the kidos to horse trial event and met some friends. I let the womens and mothers do what they had to do.
I stayed at home and did some house chores and started reading Dan John's book "Easy Strength omnibook" check it out here https://danjohnuniversity.com/bookstore
As people who follow me know, he is one of my biggest influencers when it comes to coaching and working out especially since becoming a father and his overall advice about parenting is sound too! I'll let you know how the book is.
*spoiler I'm 87 pages in and I have learned a lot and he has a way writing which is very enjoyable*
So what did I do the rest of the day?
Well, again with getting older, I have noticed during intense heat I do prefer not tempting fate and skin cancer so I stayed indoors during the highest peaks of the weather today.
Back in my 20s I would have been out sun tanning and falling asleep in the sun.
With kids that's not a thing anyway anymore!
So I read my book and listened to music..
Then I just listened to music.
It is my home base.
Give me music and nothing else, well maybe a pull up bar when I have nothing to do and I'm a happy guy.
Remember part of working out is the rest.
Allow the body to rest and learn how grow or get used to the new strength you obviously gained in last workout!
So music and reading.
Simple.
Like I said yesterday. I like simple.
There is a difference between simple and easy. As Dan John explains in his new book!
I like simple, intelligent and intense.
Chris
