Hey Team
It was fathers day yesterday! So happy fathers day to all the fathers out there.
I speak about being a father a lot as it has been the greatest contribution to my life that I have received.
There are so many responsibilities and stresses about being a father, and sometimes it's hard to put into words but a great blog post by Greg O' Gallagher summed it up quite nicely.
"But I want to be the best man I can be.
When I do have kids, I want to be a protector and a great role model.
I want my sons to look up to me for guidance.
How to be a masculine quality guy with strong character."
and he adds thoughts about having daughters:-
"I want to show them an example of a quality man.
Women tend to seek partners similar to their fathers.
The first man a woman loves is her father, so if he treats her with respect and care and cherishes her… she will seek that same treatment in the men she dates or winds up marrying."
I couldn't have put it better.
As father's we role model behaviour, values, work ethic, fun and responsibilities and by role modelling these things we can create a generation of self confident, well rounded people that will change the world for the better and look after each other.
Having kids gives us hope. Which is always a good thing to have.
