How to get fit without a gym and FOMO?

Hi Team

How has your week been?

I have been thinking a lot about saying saying no. I had to say it my boss this week as he asked for something within an unrealistic deadline.

"Chris, I need this by next Wednesday? Is that possible?"

"Negative, I have other priorities you asked me do."

I waited with baited breath.

His response came 47 mins later.

"Oh, okay, let me know when it can be done by."

Now, I do things I'm asked by my boss, don't get me wrong, but sometimes we forget what the priorities are. We end up chasing too many and in the end nothing gets done. This seems to be the case in a lot of companies I work with too.

We need to keep the goal the goal.

We need to set a deadline for that goal. Once the goal is achieved or not achieved we re-asses.

We need to say "No" to other things in the way of the goal.

In the world of health and fitness, this is also the case, I fall down too, one week I want the biggest muscles in the world, the next I want 5% body fat, the next I want to be able to do a marathon in the blink of an eye.

Keep the goal the goal Chris! "Concentrate!" - My Mum would say to me.

I think this is what the young people call:-

So what is your goal?

What is your deadline to achieve it?

What plan do you set to get to your goals?

What are the things you are going have to say "No" to while you achieve this goal?

It takes 6 - 8 weeks to get into new habits and routines and you start seeing results.

Can you say "No" to the things that got you to where you want to change your your health habits? and start saying "YES!" to drinking more water, getting more sleep, eating more fruits and veggies and working out 3 - 4 times a week to change your body and your mind?

If you want to come to start working towards your goals with a team that are supportive and like minded come to the Saturday Morning Bootcamp.

You don't need a gym to workout

Here is the US Army's workout for recruits during world war 2.

It covers everything to get the body in good shape, and best of all you don't need a gym!

“Soon after, the United States entered World War II, and by 1942, the US Army had settled on ten exercises to determine a recruit’s fitness level…”

The training program and fitness test which was developed during the war was split into two groups:

Outdoor Test

1.Pullups

2.Squat Jumps

3.Pushups

4.Situps

5.300-yard Run

Indoor Test

1.Pullups

2.Squat Jumps

3.Pushups

4.Situps

5A. Indoor Shuttle Run

5B. 60-Second Squat Thrusts (Burpee)

It's pretty good!

What are you listening to?

This song came up randomly on my spotify this week.

I forgot how awesome and fun it is!
