Hi Team
I am very much a guy that has read and done all the fads when it comes to exercise and nutrition and I guess I like to be my own test dummy in certain aspects of life.
What I have come to realise that we always try and invent something new, exciting and different just to be well… different!
But when it comes to health and nutrition we should be standing on the shoulders of giants, we should be looking back at the health and fitness lifestyle of the greats in the 50s and 60s.
They built muscle and looked good without the special sauce or trying to sell detox teas!
One of the shoulders I look up to and wish to stand on is that of legendary coach Dan John, you will hear about him a lot through me and the philosophy of Whole Happy Health.
He likes to keep things simple and effective.
What is the most bang for your buck!
He also looks at the past to gain a better future, He posted this on his Instagram from a booklet he had when he grew up.
This is a great little routine.
It is something you may see in Mens Health as a new fat burning routine but lets give credit where credit is due.
Routine:-
Clean and Press Barbell Curl Barbell Back Row Barbell Bench Barbell Back Squat Back Stretch/Chest Lifts
I would go for 2 sets of 5 reps for strength
or 3 set of 8 – 10 for muscle gain.
Maybe be wild and mix it up!
Wow who would of though that variety may actually be good for our body!
Chris
