How to Stay Fit at 40

Writer: Whole Happy HealthWhole Happy Health

Hi Team

This week we had 14 people at the Saturday Morning Bootcamp which was amazing and three new faces who killed it! The team is growing and it's amazing to see people challenge themselves and see the sense of achievement after the bootcamp.

If you want to join the bootcamp come down on a Saturday morning 8am at Charlbury Community Centre. Get your workout done while everyone else is asleep!

I am trying to get my eating back on track as I have been a little lapse recently. The warmer weather always helps to have the motivation to eat better.

Im trying to eat 2100-2300 calories a day.

I normally fast until around 11am am only drinking water, black coffee and tea.

Then it's either fat free greek yogurt, honey, fruit granola and all bran or a 3 egg omelette

For lunch that changes day to day but right now I'm loving a chicken and cheese panini.

Then dinner will be lots of vegs, chicken, pulled pork, potatos or chips or rice.

Before bed a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea.

Snacks are grapes, bananas, apples and if there is a biscuit or two lying around I will grab some. Also if I'm near the Charlbury community I can't not get one the millionaire flapjacks!

I workout 4 days a week - using simple workouts currently it's 4 exercises each workout lasting around 25 -30 mins.

I play football twice a week when shifts allow.

I'm normally in bed by 2130hrs and to relax I listen to music as much as I can and podcasts.

That is what I do to stay fit and healthy at 40. It is all about habits, it's always habits.

Keep it simple and plan what you need to do to achieve what you want to achieve.

What are your Workouts?

I am in three weeks into a programme I have designed called "The Prefect Workout" and it may not be perfect but it's pretty much perfect.

Like I said to get 4 workouts in a week that are less than 30 mins with a full time job and 2 kids is always a struggle but this programme has given me more strength and feeling like a rock star!

Here is a nice workout from legendary strength coach Dan John.

What are you listening to?

As you know I went to Country to Country and here are some artists that blew me away and although there is country in them you can tell that there is a variety of country music nowadays with Hip Hop, Rock and pop really coming through nowadays.
