Hi Team
Enough is a funny word.
When is enough enough?
When have you had enough?
Financial advisor Dave Ramsey and motivational speaker Tony Robbins uses the word enough in trying to explain the push or pull to change.
People only change when they have had enough of where they are!
"I've had enough of being in debt!"
"I've had enough of working in a place which doesn't have any prospects for me!"
"I've had enough of being overweight!"
"I've had enough of not being fit enough to keep up with my kids!"
The pain of where you are must be more painful than the actions you have to do to change.
You must have had enough!
On this note, I was lifting weights this week and I was lifting a certain amount of weight. I thought this is enough. I'm 40 years old and what I can lift is enough. Do I need to keep going for personal records and keep my male ego trying to compete with others. Sometimes enough is enough for where you are.
What is enough money to live comfortably?
What is enough at work to keep you happy?
What is enough on scales to make you comfortable in your own skin?
You look at social media and all these 23 year olds keep saying
"You have to push yourself everyday!"
"You have to challenge yourself and take yourself out of your comfort zone"
"If you aren't pushing for personal records, you arent pushing hard enough!"
Well I say sometimes enough is enough!
You don't always have to push yourself, sometimes you just need enough.
And doing enough consistently the stress you put on yourself eases and you can take a breath.
And isn't that enough to make you smile and happy?
What is your workout?
I am now in the last week of doing my first month of my "Perfect Workout" and it is still keeping me entertained and I am happy with the workouts! Im thinking about setting up a Wednesday night weightlifting class in my back garden gym. A small group of people to learn weight lifting for around 15 mins or so and then do 15 mins of loaded carries or a small run. It will be a great opportunity to gain strength, tone muscle burn some fat and chat about life and work things out not just physically but mentally and sharing experiences and stories.
We will see something I'm pondering anyway!
What are you listening to?
I'm still advocating for country music and since Yellowstone has hit netflix there is a whole new bunch of friends coming forward loving the show and understanding why I listen to country and have worn cowboy boots for a while! I first started listening to country music when I was 16 and then when I got my first car I listening to radio 2' Bob Harris' Country show and got to meet him a few years ago and thanked him for influencing my alt rock and country music tastes.
As some of you know, I went to country to country festival a coupld of weeks ago and saw Tyler Hubbard perform and one of his songs "Back then Right Now" is a great song.
It also just sums up a lot of what I feel, I know that most generations say "It was better in my day" and I'm starting to become that person.
Life seemed simpler and fun and no pressure of social media or whatever, I came off social media a few years ago (I know I have a youtube channel but it's been a while since I posted a video on there and I keep it up for exercise reminders) I'll be soon getting a light phone - which doesn't have social media, apps or access to the internet. I will being going old school and using my laptop for that and for whattapp groups as well!
anyway... Tyler Hubbards song - here it is for those of you that need some
"Back Then Right Now"
Chris
