Is more better? surely yes? maybe not!

Hi team

We are all here to get healthy and fit and as strong as possible, aren't we? and to get as strong as possible we must do more - more workouts, eat more healthy food, do more cardio.

Even as kids we believed that more sweets were better than less

Even nowadays, the more we work the better life will be later

but if we we honestly look at it,

Are more sweets better than a few?

Is working more hours in the office better than working the contract states?

There is a limit to how many sweets we can eat before getting sick and fat,

There is a limit to how many hours to can do at work before it effects our mental state, friendships and relationships.

The mindset of more is better is only applicable to money and knowledge.

The more more money we have, that is better than less.

The more education or training we have to better our skills is better than less.

You can not use the same principle of money and education for working our and exercise

If more is better in the gym that means that there is a guarantee.

If you do more the better.

But this is not the case when it comes to muscle strength and workouts.

If 20 sets are good, if we use the more is better approach than 40 is better, no wait, 80 sets are better.... nope 100 sets are better and then you would be 20 hours a day in the gym and look like a muscle bound bodybuilder bigger than Arnie.

But this is just on the case.

When it comes to working out, we just need to do enough to stimulate a change in the body.

That means that your workout needs to be intense enough for you kick start your growth hormones when it comes to muscle strength and growth.

Now, tell me more is better but if you can do 20 sets of bicep curls and you don't have 25 inch arms or your weight selection hasn't changed in years then surely more isn't better. Because if you can do 20 sets of anything that means your workout is not intense enough to stimulate the muscle growth and body adaption.

It's time to stop going through the motions at the gym.

You just need to do enough to stimulate the growth adaptations, any more is over training and your body will take longer to recover therefore effecting your next workout.

It's time to become intense and change who you are into who you can become.

You only need to workout 2 - 3 times a week for 20 mins to gain strength and muscle size as well as lose body fat with the right nutrition.

But only if you are intense with what you do in the gym.

The programme 20 min Strength is the perfect programme to get things done and then get on with your life.
