Keep Things Simple - Nutrition, Weight Lifting and Fat Loss Advice.

Hi Team

How has your week been? Actually reflect on that, how has it been? What are your thoughts? I'll give you a few moments.

Sometimes it's nice just to sit back and think and reflect on what has actually happened in the last few days or week and take stock of where you are and how are actually feel.

I met with with a friend last week and we were discussing camping, I have converted to camping a few years ago and she was saying that she struggles with it with a son that has asthma in the mornings. But she said

"I never like it before and we have been a couple of times and I think when my son is older and his lungs a little stronger in the morning. Chris, I just love the simplicity of it. No stress, when you are camping. You are just camping with the people you love and the essentials."

Simplicity and Essentials.

Now isn't that how life should be?

So when it comes to life we need simple and essential.

Food, shelter, friends/family/ feeling part of a community = feeling safe - 3 simple things that are the essentials to keep simple.

It's a shame work and drama and the internet seems to f>>>..... I mean, mess things up.

when it comes to keeping fit, healthy and living for a long time.

Clean your teeth,

Get enough sleep,

Wear a helmet when riding any kind of bike,

Wear a seatbelt,

Don't do stupid stuff,

Don't smoke,

Don't do drug,

Don't vape,

Walk,

Get out of breath from time to time,

Lift weights,

Eat well,

Drink water,

Spend time with people you enjoy being around and can learn things from,

Read good books,

A simple list and those are the essentials of keeping fit and healthy.

Getting out of breath - Keep it simple, go to a fitness class, go for a walk and make sure there is a hill to walk up, run or sprint just get to the stage where you are a little out of breath. That's where the magic is.

Lifting weights - Push something, Pull something, Squat, Lift something from the ground.

Here is pretty much the perfect workout.

Shoulder press

Pull ups

Deadlift

Goblet Squat

Chose your reps and sets but again, they must be enough to make you struggle and get out of breath slightly. That is where the magic is.

Eat Well - Don't give me that you don't know what that means. I'll tell you a story....

A young boy gets his teeth checked out at the dentist and as the boy leaves the dentist says "No junk food" the boy nodded. The boy knew what the dentist meant.

We all know what junk food is, we all know what good healthy food is. Eating well means eat more of the good stuff... the stuff your grandmother told you to eat, fruits, veggies, chicken, beef, pasta, bread, drink water and not fizzy drinks.

We all know what to eat. It's about the doing now. Stop acting like a child and eat like an adult.... remember you are one.

It doesn't mean you have to eat everything 100% healthy all the time. Eat well means, eat well but also "treat yo'self"

Again, take your grandmothers advice on the cakes and biscuits. "You can have one piece of cake, not the whole thing!.... you can have one biscuit, not the whole packet!"

If you are looking at your calories and want to know how many you should be eating to lose body fat, or gain weight check out this calorie calculator.

The nice thing about this online calculator is that it will tell you how many calories to eat if you want to stay the same weight, lose body fat or increase your weight.

The numbers are good.

Here are what it recommends for me:-

Here are my results for weight loss.

Again, this is keeping things simple.

Simplicity and Essentials - there are a few to think about and take the pressure off, if you forget the noise and social media and if you stick to this advice for 30 - 60 days. You health and fitness and life will be moving in the right direction!

What are you reading?

This book changed my perspective of what is needed in life and carrying on the theme of simple and essential.

Check it out a quick read and thought provoking and keeping what is needed.

What are you listening to?

This song came up on a random playlist of spotify this week and it blew me away.

This song also inspired this blog post.

"It's easy living that makes living easy."

A soulful song.

A longer post this week and I enjoyed writing writing it.

I hope you enjoyed reading it.

In January I am getting a new phone, it will be a dumb phone so I won't be disracted by the smartness of the smart phones and if I want to use the internet, I will have to do it the old fashioned way, you know the early 00's ..... is that old fashioned??? I will need to sit down and use my laptop.

My new phone will be the simplicity and only the essentials.

phone, text, podcast, maps and music. - you can't even download other apps on to it!

I cant wait.

Simple, essential and life will be more intentional.

Chris
