Hi Team
This week has been a catch up week for me and trying to get settled after a few hectic weeks and running around.
After the storm that battered the UK, my mum and step fathers kitchen roof and conservatory now has a 40 foot+ tree on top of them. Which is going to need a complete restart in fixing and rebuilding.
With the New Year coming up, we are all restarting and thinking about the rebuilding of our health and waist lines!
I received an email from Bill Hinbern and he mentioned the KISS principle when it comes to health and fitness.
"The K.I.S.S. principle.
Actually, I can’t take credit for this acronym as I read it somewhere.
In any event, the letters stand for...
“Keep It Simple, Stupid!”
Most people take the joke in stride and get the idea.
But, when I say “simple,” I mean just that…
SIMPLE!
Let’s face it, when engaging in progressive resistance exercise, there are only a few variables involved:
1. Increase resistance, or weight.
2. Increase repetitions.
3. Reduce the time it takes to perform a given exercise.
4. Improve the technique in exercise performance.
5. Improve concentration during exercise performance through visualize.
6. Monitor proper recovery time. Sleep, relaxation, etc.
7. Monitor proper nutrition. Which means, essentially, forget the American diet!
If you are doing any and, hopefully, most of the above, you have got to be making progress."
Simple is a good start when you restart and rebuild something - the fundamentals and foundations of anything must be good and strong then to build on top of.
It's the same with fat loss and getting healthy.
Show up 2. Eat well 3. Be consistent 4. Do your best.
"1. Eat fruit and veggies 2. Drink water 3. Lift Weights 4. Go for a walk " - Work class coach Dan John.
Keep things simple.
Life is too hard otherwise.
What are your workouts?
Here are some ab and core exercises to get that six pack going for Christmas!
What are you listening to?
Spotify released it's unwrapped this week.
Apparently I am in the top 3% of the world that listens to music using Spotify.
I listened to over 63,343 minutes of music this year.
I listened to 1,643 different artists.
What can I say? I like music.
There was no surprise that The Red Clay Strays was top spot this year.
The first time in 8 years that either Counting Crows or Bruce Springsteen didn't hold top spot.
