Simple Workouts for a Busy Lifestyle

Hi Team

Last week, I took a day off and expected to lie on the sofa and listen to music all day and nap, but I forgot that my wife and daughter were off that day and so I ended up repainting the bathroom.

I felt very chuffed with myself as in the morning I had gone to B+Q and bought dust sheets and brushes and a suit and eye protectors as I was ceiling painting and I learned that you need eye protection otherwise paint gets in your eyes. I didn’t need paint as I had some left over paint in my shed from when we painted the house 7 years ago.

So set up laid out the tools shook and mixed the paint and went to roll it on the ceiling and Splatter everywhere all over the walls and taps and on the face! (lucky I was wearing my protective glasses hey?)

The paint had separated and worse than that there were grey clumps in it as well…. Very annoying as the paint hadn’t been opened before and described as “BRILLIANT WHITE”…. Why grey clumps?

Anyway, after rushing around cleaning the ceiling and wiping down the taps and walls back to B+Q  I went, anyway within 3 hours  bathroom painted and looking brand new and wife happy…. Life is good.

What did I learn?

It’s great to be prepared and have the tools but I did not check and verify that the tools worked and were suitable for the job.

In the world of getting fit, healthy and losing some unwanted fat do you have the tools ready and available?

Do you have the right trainers?

Have you verfied that they fit?

Do you have a workout plan?

Have you verified that you know what is expected and how to do the exercises?

Do you have a shopping list of the right healthy food to buy?

Have you verified what fruits and veggies you like and are able to cook?

Do you have the right utensils and storage to make healthy meals?

Set your intention and pay attention!

What are you listening to?

I like Pavel Tsatsouline, he is the king of the kettlebells and has some great insights and experience in minimal and effective workouts to get strong and stay healthy.

This is a killer podcast which in total is over 4 hours of conversation with great advice, tools and workouts to try.

Below is the episode description by Dr. Huberman and is a great listen for those looking to get the most effective workouts in a busy life.

"In this episode, my guest is Pavel Tsatsouline, a world-renowned strength and conditioning coach, former military special forces training instructor, author, and founder of StrongFirst—an online school focused on “low-tech, high-concept” training to build strength for men and women of all fitness levels.

We discuss the most effective and efficient ways to build strength, endurance, and flexibility. We cover bodyweight-only, free-weight, and machine-based protocols and describe training splits and lesser-known but highly effective ways to train, especially for people with limited time."
