What are your Bumpers? and The Boss.

Hi Team

I have been training a and coaching a team of people this week. I do enjoy teaching, speaking and coaching people and teams to a common goal.

Coaching is about reminding people of the following themes in any corporation, service or fitness goals.

  1. Fundamentals first.

  2. Keep the goal the goal.

  3. Don't chase too many rabbits.

  4. Be consistent in what you do.

There is something else that I heard in a Podcast this week, It was about bowling and how the Bumpers on the side of the alley are there to keep the ball straight and get the bowler practising the fundamentals and the bumpers nudge the ball back in the right direction towards the pins.

Once the bowler is confident in technique and fundamentals of the sport the bumpers disappear and the bowler knows how to achieve that goal by himself.

When it comes to life goals, career goals and health and fitness goals, you need your bumpers to keep yourself on track.

These maybe, books, guidance, mentors, leaders, values set by the company.

When it comes to your health and fitness, ask yourself 2 things.

    1. What is my goal?

    2. What/who are my bumpers to keep me on track.

For myself, I realised this week, one of my bumpers is NOT TO HAVE MARYLAND COOKIES IN THE HOUSE!

I hadn't bought them for a while as they are like crack! so addictive ..... but this week I bought a packet for my kids and we opened them and did my kids have any???

Shh... don't tell them.... I ate the whole pack in one day!

So one of my bumpers is that I need to make sure that the food and snacks in the house will contribute to health and fat loss.

I do have chocolate and other biscuits in the house but, I know maryland cookies will not help towards my goals as I will eat all of them, all day and everyday if they were in the house.

Another bumper of mine is "Don't go 3 days with a workout or a run or playing sports" other ones include- Follow one fitness, plan at a time, speak to friends and my family to keep me focused on the person I am and who I want to be.

So what and who are your bumpers to keep you on track and working towards your goals?

One of them could be the Saturday Morning Bootcamp at the Charlbury Community Centre 8am.

    just saying.

Here is "Rosalita come out tonight"

By the way the guy is 74 years old. Still gigging and doing concerts for over 3 hours at a time.
