Hi team
I have been away in Devon seeing family and I had a couple of bad nights sleep as well. My daughter had a few wake ups throughout the night and took a while to get back to sleep.
The following day, I felt stressed and tight throughout my body and it was the first time in a long time that I really felt life was stressful.
I don't tend to get angry or stressed... well there are 2 things that stress me out.
People who don't do their job properly
People who cant drive properly
I guess those are subjective.... but 9 times out of 10. I'm right about those!
Anyway, what I realised is that the stress wasn't because life was stressing me out.
It was because I hadn't slept well in 2 nights and it really affected my mood. Then I listened to a podcast and they were talking about the effect on the body and fat loss when people don't have a good nights sleep.
The four things that they said which was interesting. When you don't have a good night sleep:-
Your hormones go all out of whack as sleep is the time your body recovers and tries to get the balance back in your body.
Stress levels increase
You want to eat more to keep your energy going throughout the day - your body craves more calories.
You want to eat the sugary, fatty good stuff that is high in calories. - because the bad stuff is high in calories and that's what your body wants. So you don't tend to grab the fruit and kale.... it's the family size packet of doritos and fry ups...
Which reminded me of hangovers at uni.
Those were the go to the next.... not morning... maybe afternoon to get food down you!
Anyway... something simple as getting a good nights sleep has a great knock on effect for you mental clarity, mental health and waist line.
So try and get to bed half an hour earlier. That doesn't mean you need to try and sleep straight away but be in bed and let the body relax.
Remember the bed is for 3 things.

Well... nudge, nudge, wink wink.
Get screens out of there!
Just something I need to remember as well.
Sleep is important!

What is your workout?

What are you listening to?
I am a massive fan of Bon Iver - I wouldn't know how to describe their music but when listening to them it is like a canvas of emotion that creates an atmosphere rather than the normal story telling in song writing.
They can out with their latest album this week - the first in 6 years.
And again, the atmospheric sound is like a candle flicking in the dark with lights flashing in the most calming way.
Here is a song from the album called "Everything is Peaceful."
peace out
chris
